TRIP TO CASCAIS

After a short and scenic train ride from Lisbon, we came to a beautiful small town Cascais.

We were all excited to see the ocean for the first time, so we went right to the nearest beach called Praia da Conceição. It was beautiful on a sandy beach where we soaked our feet in the ocean. We stayed on a beach for quite a while.

Later we went to the center of Cascais. It is a beautiful old town, and we were very impressed by landscaping, architecture, and vibe of that little town. As we were walking around the town we decided to go to Boca de inferno as it is just about 45 minutes long walk from Cascais.
 

Boca de Inferno

Boca de Inferno is an interesting cliff formation that is a result of the constant pounding of the Atlantic Ocean on the cliffs wall. Wich chiseled out a small cave, that subsequently collapsed over time and formed a small bay with a natural arch.










It was impressive to see strong ocean waves pounding in the cliffs.

But it soon started getting very hot and we decided to go back to Cascais where we did another stroll around town before heading back to Lisbon.
