Bled is small town in Gorenjska region, but the town is not that important. Famous thing here is the lake with an island which is also only slovenian island at all.
Easiest way to get here is to take a bus or a train. If you are arriving by car, I recommend that you take some extra time, because in this area is very offten a lot of traffic.
A BUS from Ljubljana it cost 6 EUR (one way) and it takes around 1 h.
A train from Ljubljana main rail station till Bled jezero it cost 6,59 EUR (one way) and it takes from 1 h 16 min till 1 h 57 min (depending of waiting in Jesenice).
When you get off train, just go accros the road and then follow the path down. After a few minutes you will be right next to the lake.

WARNING
Please only go there if you have the right footwear! Defenety not in flip flops!
So you have to go up in the forest. If you are not 100% sure that you are on the right way, you probably are, because there is a lot of different paths, which later come together and became only one path. So after around 20 min of walking you will arrive on the top of Ojstrica.

Heart of Bled |
When you came to Bled you should defenetly try a kremšnita. This is the most famous sweet dish in Bled.
On the pier you can find big red heart and a bench, where you can take a lovely photo.
Bled Castle |
You can also go on Bled castle. Castle is located on the top of the huge rock, right next to lake. The view from there is also amazing.

According to written sources is Bled castle the oldest castle in Slovenia, with a grant first mentioned in 1011 as castellum Veldes. Much more about castle you can read HERE.
If you wanna go on the island you can go with tradicional pletna boat or you rent a boat (like this on the picture) and go a little bit around the lake by your own.
On the way back to Ljubljana you can also stop in Vintgar. If you are traveling by train you can get off train on train station called Podhom, which in next station from Bled and than walk through Vintgar gorge all the way untill train station called Vintgar (or the opposite way). From Bled to Vintgar you can also go by bus. The ticket price is 1 €. For the cardholders of the Julijan Alps card (guest Bled), the ticket is free of charge.
Because the path is very narrow we recommend you to get there early at morning or right before they close.
You have to knew that in summer there is a lot of people so I sugest you to go there in spring or even better in fall. Fall in so gorgeus because of all colours.
