WEEKEND IN BARCELONA - PART 1

On Friday morning we flew to Barcelona.
After we landed we went to Pension Arís where we had a reservation. Our host was very kind to us.

Pension Arís is located very close to Placa de Catalunya. Our room was small but very nice. Room has an air conditioner, little sink and we also had a tiny balcony. We shared bathroom with a few other travelers.

After quick rest we went across the Placa de Catalunya to the famous La Rambla.

La Rambla

Because we were already very hungry we decided that we would go to Mercado de La Boqueria.

This is the best market we have ever visited.
For the beginning, we bought fresh smoothies. We had very hard time deciding which smoothie to try because of all different choices.

Our smoothies (strawberry and pineaple)

Than we also bought some tasty street food. We chose some fries and some chicken. They had a lot of different options. Sweet, salty, local, sea food and a lot of fruits.
Our first plan was that we are gonna eat on the beach, but we were way too hungry so we could not wait that long.

Dinner

After our meal we went along La Rambla to the sea.
After some walk we come to Platja de la Barceloneta. The most famous beach in Barcelona. There we rested a little bit and took some photos.

Platja de la Barceloneta

Later we went to the Placa d’Espanya. There we took a look a Torres Venecianes and we went to Font Màgica de Montjuïc along the water fountains walkway. We were there already at 8:45 PM and we got a nice spot in first row. If you want a special place with even better view on fountain We recommend you that you get there even before. We suggest you that you take a sit on stairs above the fountain. Before the show we watched various street artists so we weren’t bored.

Right before the show

The show started at 9.30 PM. The dance of water was amazing. It was really unique experience.

Because it was already late and we were tired, we went back to our room.

On Saturday morning we first went to market La Boqueria. Day before we were so amazed by this market, so we just couldn’t start our second day in Barcelona without visiting this market. We bought us some food for breakfast and smoothies of course.

After a little while of discovering Barcelona we took a bus and we went to Park Guell.
We had a reservation at 12.30 PM. We bought our tickets online. Park Guell was designed by Antoni Gaudi. It has 2 parts in one part the entrance is free but another part is much more beautiful and for this part you have to pay.

Park Guell

We spend there around 3 hours, and then we got very hungry. We decide to go eat in Restaurant Gut (Carrer del Perill, 13, 08012 Barcelona). They also offer gluten free food. Our food was so delicious as you can see on the pictures below.

After lunch we went to the …

What happened later on that day in the next post.
